Random Acts of Kindness
Join us: August 14-21 for Random Acts of Kindness Week!
There has a lot been written and spoken about “paying it forward.” I think that the premise is awesome and I know many people use paying forward as way to engage in “Random Acts of Kindness.” I know that I do! A random act of kindness can literally be the difference between someone deciding to end their life and someone deciding that life, their life, is worth living after all…
So, I started thinking why not dedicate a week to “Random Acts of Kindness.” Not paying a good deed forward, but being kind to another soul, to your fellow man, just because you can. How do you feel when someone…a stranger or not, shows you a simple kindness? It could be as simple as holding a door open and saying something nice…genuinely…nice. Or helping a work colleague who is behind by doing some filing or reach…you fill in the blank. I’m talking about an act of kindness with no strings attached and the only expectation is that you have to feel GOOD about yourself. Far too many of us go through life berating and beating ourselves down for perceived faults and short comings, that rise up out of our issues surrounding our self worth. "Random Acts of Kindness" will make you feel good about you and can go a long way to boosting your self confidence.
When I mentioned dedicating a week to "Random Acts of Kindness" to someone they expressed that they had never been a recipient of a random act of kindness! Wow! That's a little sad!
I challenge you as I have challenged them to participate in the random acts of kindness week and report what happens to you over the coming months.
The Universal Law state what you put out is what you get back. It's a bit like a light bulb, if your output is 60 watts you can’t expect 150 watts of illumination. So give it a try and see what comes back to you! I would be honored if you would share your experiences with me.
Guidelines
